Shocking!! New Movie “The Revenant” Takes Slight Lead Over “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”
“The Revenant” appears to have smack down the almighty “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” this weekend with a slight lead.
Based on reports both movies have constantly shattered the box office and are presently locked in a battle.
“The Revenant” pulled in $14.3 million as it opened wide on Friday, putting it on track for a weekend haul of $37 million.
While, “Star War:Force Awakens,” now in its fourth weekend of play, took in $10.7 million on Friday, on the road to a three-day total north of $36 million.
Although “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is currently the highest-grossing film in U.S. history and also just smashed the highest opening record in China.
Synopsis
In 1823, fur trapper Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) is mauled by a bear while hunting in what will become the Dakota Territory.
His companions rob him, murder his young half-Native American son, and leave him to die, but he survives and sets out on a 200 mile trek to get revenge on the men who betrayed him and find the man (Hardy) who killed his son.
