A Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa has done the unexpected as he breaks twitter “most retweet record”.
As at press time, Maezawa’s tweet dated 6 January has now been retweeted more than 5.5 million times.

That’s way more than Carter Wilkinson’s 2017 request for help to secure himself a year of free chicken nuggets from fast food chain Wendy’s.

His social media success means Wilkerson, who was retweeted 3.5 million times, has slipped into second place.
The founder of Zozotown, Japan’s largest retailer, had earlier said he’s going to split 100 million yen with 100 random people who retweeted his tweet.
All people had to do to be in with a chance to win was to follow the entrepreneur and retweet his message.
His generous offer comes after Zozotown’s New Year sale was its biggest ever, making 10 billion yen.
Maezawa is best known internationally as being first private passenger due to be flown around the Moon by Space X, the company owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
