CNN is reporting that the long-awaited sequel brought in $511.8 million globally during its first three days, which is the best worldwide debut in the history of Hollywood.
The previous mark was set in 2011, when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 made a paltry $483.2 million.
The movie stars Chris Pratt(Guardian of the Galaxy) and directed by Colin Trevorrow.
