Federal Govt. Declares 12th And 13th Of September As Public Holiday For The Ileya Festival
The federal government of Nigeria has declared Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th respectively as public holidays to mark the ileya celebration.
Speaking on behalf of the FG, the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), enjoined all Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to support, co-operate and join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari “in his sustained efforts to diversify the economy and progressively accelerate the pace of economic recovery.”
A statement issued today 7th of september in Abuja from the office of the acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, stated that the government was aware of the present economic challenges confronting the nation, due to the downturn in oil prices.
