LaLiga: Valencia 4-1 Real Madrid, Zidane Reaction To Thumping
Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has said his team has “no excuses” for losing 4-1 to Valencia on Sunday.
Carlos Soler converted a hat-trick of penalties on Sunday night at the Mestalla as the reigning LaLiga champions suffered a huge setback.
Madrid took the lead through Karim Benzema, but three spot-kicks and an own-goal scored by Raphael Varane ensured the Madridistas loss.
This is the first time Madrid have conceded four goals since letting in five against Barcelona in October 2018.
“There is no justification, no excuses. It’s a bad game and a bad day.
“Everything happened to us with three penalties and an own goal. After our goal, the dynamic changed and we changed what we were doing. Everything came together today.”, ” Zidane told his post-match conference.
When asked what he thought about VAR’s influence on the game, Zidane reluctantly said ; “I don’t talk about the referees,”.
Also asked what he thought he made a tactical mistake he said; “I don’t think Valencia were tactically better, but I am the one to blame because I’m the one who needs to find solutions.”
