Lyon Set To Sign Former Arsenal And Real Madrid Striker
Lyon are on the verge of signing former Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor according to reports.
The former spurs, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid striker has been without a club since he was released by Crystal Palace in June.
The 32-year-old signed a short-term deal at Selhurst Park in January but became a free-agent after scoring just one goal in 15 appearances for the London club.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says they are close to signing ‘an experienced and ambitious’ attacker, with Adebayor seen on a flight to France with a view to signing.
A move to Ligue 1 would present a return for Adebayor to the country where he began his professional career with Metz.
The former Togolese striker first came to England when he left Monaco for Arsenal in 2006.
