The Info Nerds Celebrity Hang Out With Young John The Wicked Producer [Exclusive Interview]
He is the producer behind most of the hits we all dance to, I’m talking about Bobo, Gbese, Efejoku, Melo Melo, Awon Goons Mi, Falila ketan, Confam Ni, Story For The Gods, Tanawole (Jaywon) among others. Young John The Wicked Producer (Born Udomboso John saviours) is apparently the fastest rising music sensation right now.
Young John’s rise to fame has been quite swift that even Davido has decided to make a track with him. Young John (a native of Akwa Ibom) has proving himself to be a force to reckon with in the Nigerian Music Industry.
The other day, He decided to grant us an interview. The following is the excerpt of the interview THE INFO NERDS MEDIA CREW had with him:
Your Educational and Family Background:
I had my primary Education at Ideal foundation here in Ibadan. A Part of my Secondary school was at Oritamefa Baptist Model School (OBMS) also in Ibadan before relocating to Osogbo where I completed secondary education at Golf international school in Osogbo. I’m currently a student of the prestigious University Of Ibadan. I was born into a Christian family. My Dad is a pastor so I basically grew up in the church.
What Goals did you set before yourself when going into producing?
I actually gave myself a target to have produced a particular amount of hit songs by the end of this year. I’m not there yet because I have not achieved half the number I set before myself but I believe I’ll get there very soon. It just depends on hard work.
How long did it take you to excel in your line of business?
I joined the industry about two (2) years ago so it took me that much time to get to where I am now.
Which was the first song you produced?
The first song I produced that was dropped online was a song for AVG but my first hit song is Olamide’s story for the gods.
What are the challenges in your line of business?
I guess it is the same with every business. The barrier between me and my goals are my challenges. Sometimes it is always difficult blending school work with producing, time factor is also there, you spend several hours doing a particular job and then discover you don’t have enough time left for other things.
How do/did you build contacts/clients?
When you work hard, clients will find you because success speaks for itself. People hear your works and come to you to do business. Sometimes you can advertise what you do on social media and people who need your service will reach out.
What has been your greatest achievement?
I just got nominated for an award in New York. I guess that is my greatest achievement so far.
How does it feel like working with YBNL?
It feels great (smiling). I’m enjoying the flow. The people there are wonderful.
Your Role Model(s).
In Nigeria, I look up to Don Jazzy, shizzi amongst others. I look forward to working with Don Jazzy, D’ Banj, Tuface etc in the home front and in the Foreign scene, I want to work with Nicki Minaj, Kanye west, Rihanna.
How do you manage school and Producing?

Your plan(s) after your first degree
By the grace of God, I’m going for a master’s degree. I love schooling.
What do you do to unwind?
At my leisure, I Love playing games, playing football.
Philosophy of Life.
I believe there is God and he is the controller, Author and creator of everything. If you need anything, ask from him. You also need to work hard very hard though.
Advice for students.
Be in school, stay out of drugs and work hard. If you need something, go for it and work very hard for it.
